Welcome

I started this blog in 2010 when there were 11 weeks to go before my next Ironman triathlon. People have found it interesting (mainly my Mum!) so I continue to write.
The Ironman is a long distance triathlon; Swim 2.4miles, Cycle 112miles, Run 26.2 miles (marathon). I have competed in one every year since 2004. I hope this blog can help others see what is involved. I find the process of writing it makes me more accountable and motivates me to do the harder sessions when i'm not feeling like it!

Just experimenting at the moment to see how the picture function works, this is a picture of the Brighton triathlon swim start. Got very choppy
A picture that reminds me it's very difficult to do it without the support of your friends and family. For every person racing there's a load of people in the background that make it all possible.

Getting ready at 4am at the transition - never an easy time. Millions of pounds of bikes and big toilet q's

1500 people going for a swim together. Often results in me changing my plans to more conservative ones after about 5 minutes!

On the bike. UK one this time - weather not so exotic. Smiling and ahead of someone with a fancy hat, must be ok?
